Since many have posted or emailed asking for info, here's my 2 cents on the Ice Cream Ball:
RECIPES are VERY hard to find... here's the link I used to get the creative juices flowing:
For where to find the ball, go your preferred search engine, yahoo or whatever and type in:
"ice cream ball"
Click any link and buy one, they come in lots of colors, the only stipulation... it's not a soccer ball, it's hard plastic and if kicked around it will crack, worse yet it could really hurt if one kid (or parent) threw it at another kid (or parent)!!!
We got ours on LL Bean .com but they sell out often and are more expensive, as I found out later.
Best thing about this, kids can do it themselves, no electic cord or power to worry about AND no freezing the metal canister in advance, it's easy. Hardest part, making sure you put the rock salt in the right hole and the ingredients in the other... not rocket science though.
Just did the search online and found out that the latest and greatest model, at REI.com makes a QUART not a PINT, bigger and better, new and improved, only $10 more...
