E's Aunt and Uncle sent us this wonderful ballet fabric chosen to represent the Nutcracker and it's tradition in Boston. The ironic part of this one is that even though it represents something about E's childhood, it also represents much about mine too, I'm not sure his Aunt and Uncle knew that though. Both E and I have been to see the Nutcracker in the years we've been married, in Philly mainly but also hoped to get to see it in DC. What's great about seeing a show like the Nutcracker is that the beauty and magic of the show varies with every theater stage it's showed on. Each one is unique and special and amazing, the Nutcracker is for sure something we'll be taking Magpie to see, the Arts is something both of us have an incredible passion for, whether it's Off Broadway, local theater or even museums, we love them.A very special thanks to E's Aunt and Uncle for this personal and lovely wish, we hope this wish comes true.
This pretty fabric comes to us from wonderful neighbors I had as a child. Our neighborhood growing up was tight and in many ways, those friendships still exist today. We were fortunate to have grown up in the safe harbor of that community and with the families we were surrounded by.
Bill and Charlotte were one of the couples who wrote us a letter of reference for the social workers as part of our home study nearly 8 months ago. The references were tough as we had to come up with a minimum of 3 couples who knew both of us equally well and who weren't family. But Bill and Charlotte wrote us a lovely letter of reference which became part of our homestudy. The fabric they chose honors the whole theme we were hoping to do the entire quilt in. The nursery theme is Sun, Moon and Stars and we had hoped to have a quilt representing that theme. Though that quilt dream theme was let go, we've had a few people close to us send us squares with our original them. Bill and Charlotte, thanks for your beautiful fabric and heart felt wish. We love that you will be part of this quilt and more so of Magpie's life.
