motorcycles and magpie

yup, the title is correct. Ever since we've been dreaming of having kids, we've been envisioning them on motorcycles.

Motorcycles are a big part of how 2 shy 'kids' wound up on a first date and later on got married! We'd always talked about seeing our daughter on a dirtbike, figured when she was 'old enough', like 5 or so, BUT, we found out they make training wheels for dirt bikes! Holy cow, how cool is that? Big wheeled, wide set, sturdy training wheels.

So, by this point in the post, we imagine some friends and family are thinking we're nuts. That's ok, that's what life is all about, different perspectives!

so we are in a bike shop Saturday, window shopping, dreaming...we do find a helmet E likes, this is great as his old one sucks. Double great, it's on sale! So we get the helmet, shop a bit more. We see minature dirt bike outfits for 2-4 year olds, all the padding you could want.My thought, "man, you know Magpie NEEDS this", Eric's response "oh yeah she does". We don't get it though.

However, I spot the cutest (and half price mind you) jacket in size 24 months. I fall in love but given that it's a size 2 and that she may not fit in it if we get a referral closer to 18 months I hesitate and don't get it. I am bummed on the way out and mention it that night.

Look what E picked up, in a size 4 (looks like it might be closer to a 3 though so that's cool)!!!!!! He was at the dealer yesterday trying to see what kind of trade in he could get on his bike and asked about the jacket.

Come on, how absolutely cute is that? Can't you picture Magpie, Mom and Dad all ripping through our backyard, on dirt bikes? Mapgie on a little 50cc with training wheels, Mom on the same (lol) and Dad on some monster dirt bike!!!

Life just couldn't get any better than that. Thoughts like this keep us sustained through the long and lonely wait to Magpie.
