It's hard to believe we've reached a full 12 months since our Dossier was Logged in May 8, 2006. The past 12 months
have seen a lot of change in our lives.Let's recap for those following along at home:
Month 1, 5/8/06 - 6/7/06
Our paperwork is Logged in with the CCAA, giving us a LID of 5/8/06. I am now interviewing with a new company as we've come to grips with "moving on" from where we've been for 5 years and we've given up on a transfer overseas to Belgium or to the plant in SC. Belgium would have been awesome and we were really disappointed I didn't get the job, as for SC, realistically, instead of being 5 hours and 7 hours from our parents, in SC we would have been 5 and 10 hours. Having a support network and family in weekend distance at a minimum would be gone. We were ready to head back to our roots, to family, to both of our families as they are located within 2.5 hours of each other.
Our first Mother's Day passes since Sophia died, very few people say a word, those that do touch our hearts. We attend a Dragon Boat Festival in DC and marvel at the beauty of the boats.
We mark the 4th month of this blog and I find a whole new world in the online community, some wonderful, some not so wonderful, just like life.We start the sponsorship of a Nanny with Half The Sky in honor of Sophia, we are still sponsoring her today and will continue to.
The wait for a referral is over 10 months.

Month 2, 6/8/06 - 7/7/06
I have my 2nd interview and in late June accept a position setting us on a course north by northeast. For weeks we spend every waking moment cleaning, purging and getting ready to list our house. We go
camping with friends and even squeeze in some time at the amusement park. Our annual camping tradition with Karen and Richard is likely at this point coming to an end as we've been camping in VA and well, that's one long ass drive for a weekend.We spend a quick day on The Bay and also the 4th of July in MA and announce our new jobs and pending move.

Month 3, 7/8/06 - 8/7/06
We continue the mayhem that marks distinctly what happens when you relocate for jobs, basically in 4 weeks you take a job, pack and sell one house,
move to a new location, househunt and buy a new house... only we weren't so lucky as to move right into the new home. Our old home is listed and basically under contract within 12 hours. That same weekend we househunt in the new location and plop down 10% on new construction. This month we also spend a wonderful weekend visiting work colleagues of mine who coincidentally will live just over an hour from us AFTER we move! We move (into a hotel room) and I start my new job, E starts his same job with the same company in a new location, we were lucky.The wait has climbed to over 12 months.

Month 4, 8/8/06 - 9/7/06
We mark the start of our 2nd month in a hotel, celebrate my birthday, change rooms, trade in the old motorcycle for a new one, deal with ridiculous melodrama from a family member and continue to go stir crazy in the hotel. Internet access is horrible and sometimes we can only get the wireless connection in the bathroom, coincidently, this IS where your best thinking is done! Our hotel room now includes not only 2 full carloads of crap, the dogs, a huge dog crate, us, a minifridge we bought, but we've also crammed in nearly 30 light fixtures we had to select and purchase for the new house!We explore the area, visiting some old places we'd been before we moved and found some new places to get out, stretch our legs and let the dogs run free, Zane even learns she is part fish and won't leave the water.
We 'visit' our new house nearly every week and anxiously await the day we move out of the hotel.

I can hardly believe that it has been a year! I can remember some of these posts, actually! What a great way to celebrate your LID-versary!
