The whole reason why I bought this house, as the seasons change, so too does the personality of the lake. It unfolds before you, day by day, sunrise by sunrise. Each day allowing you to glimpse a very small part of the big picture. And if you're fortunate enough, patient enough and you slow down life a bit and soak it all in, well, when you do that, you notice the depth of change that can occur in a very short time period and you realize that all things change over time.
No matter how much you may enjoy the fall, there will always be winter.
And the lake, to me, is a lot like people, a lot like life. It's real, it's ever changing, it's full of surprise and when you take time to soak a person in, well, only then can you see the seasons of who they are, for all they really are. So deep, so true and so fleeting.
So soak in the ones you love and care about, take time to appreciate their beauty and set aside their faults. There will always be something beautiful about Winter, even if you love Fall.
And for those of you wondering, the heart? I did not create that, nature did, the magical combination of the wind in the night across the lake and the waves against the dock. And perhaps now it's clear why I think the lake is a lot like people, they all have a heart. Just like the lake, if you look hard enough, if you're patient enough, well, you may be fortunate enough to see their heart.
