Referral Updates

So, it's referral time again.. there's good news and bad news folks.

The GOOD news:
Referrals came early and the CCAA caught all agencies off guard, rumors, confirmed or not, were beyond scarce.

9 days worth of waiting families received referrals

The BAD News:
Not a rumor to be had, this may mean the CCAA has closed ranks and gone on stealth mode.

9 days worth of families received their referrals for a period of time that covered 24 days since the last referrals came out.

Bottom Line:
We've chosen not to 'officially' do the math. But we do know on average, since we were logged in, LID 5/8/06, the CCAA has processed an average of 11 days of waiting families for every 29 days between referrals.

Prior to October 2005, when things really came to a grinding halt, the CCAA processed an average of 34 days of waiting families for every 30 days between referrals (anyone notice a dramatic change?).

Should you care to do the math for us, that's fine, please don't tell us how long till our referral comes at this rate. We'd rather not know I have a good idea but I know we have no control over it.

For Family and Friends, not up on what may be causing the slow down, here's some insight (LOL):

1. No one knows but those closest to the CCAA, maybe not even those who process the Dossiers.
2. Hunan Scandal in OCtober?
3. New CCAA director and change of policies 4Q05?
4. More babies being adopted domestically, as in, in China.
5. Fewer babies beign abandoned.
6. Slow down in paperwork processing.
7. Increase in Dossier.
8. All of the above.
9. None of the above.

Any other ideas? In China, things do not work the same as in the US or elsewhere. They have their own way, their own culture and those of us desiring to adopt from China have few options but patience, as hard as that is. Some days/weeks/months, patience is very hard to come by for us and we understand it is not easy, not even close. Respect for the way the government and CCAA handles things is needed even if wouldn't chose to do things the same way.

And please, do not suggest we just 'switch countries', there are difficulties everywhere and our hearts are vested in China... it would be like suggesting someone 'switch pregnancies' perhaps, sure sounds silly doesn't it!
