Quick Update, as of October 6th.

We moved into our new home on Thursday night, us, the dogs and the contents of 2 vehicles and a bike on a trailer! We have no internet or phone service due to the kind and competent people at AT&T. So this post comes to you via a hastily stolen wireless neighbors account at 8 pm sunday night, the first internet service we could find :)

I’d like to take a quick moment to digress and mention… if you have a choice and AT&T is one of them, no matter what, pick the other one. They knew we were moving in for months, the appointment has been fixed for weeks and yet, for some reason, this global company, ‘experts’ in technology, have no common sense or understanding of the word “planning”. When they send out people to hook up phones, they don’t bother to determine if phone service is available out at a the telephone poles or not… seems the kind, intelligent, paid folks at AT&T couldn’t bother to figure out the poles on our street have all available connections taken.

Hence, in a minimum of 3-5 business days they’ll send someone else back out to fix the job they couldn’t do right in the first place. I’m nearly done digressing. When you have a choice, select the other guy, AT&T sucks.

So, we are in our house, have days worth of painting ahead of us till the mover show up next week. We plan to paint 4 rooms, one with a stripe technique, hang 4 rooms of curtains, 3 rooms of blinds, the appliances come, the satellite… if you’ve moved on a corporate relo, you know the drill. Time is of the essence and we don’t get a lot of time to work through things, when most people have months to move in and settle, corporate relo’s are days/weeks.
