Though the review departments and the referral departments have nothing to do with each other (think assembly lines that run in parallel, not series.) it's still exciting to see that they've officially finished with LID's from the first month of 2006, yup, that's our year.Another item of good news is that the CCAA referred more waiting days (LID's) worth of Dossiers than recent months, given that these days included some pretty big LID's in relations to other LID's it's also good news.
The bad news, it appears that a fair number of Dossiers, when they went through the review proces many many months ago, were put on hold as the CCAA asked parents for more information. When the parents provided the information the Dossiers were entered in line again. Note, they weren't entered in line where they were before... they were entered in line where the line had moved to. This means that a number of families who should have been included in this referral batch were not referred a child. They do not know what their 'new' LID is nor when a referral could happen.
To those families impacted by this 'waiting for info bump', my heart goes out to you. You've waited nearly twice as long as you expected to at the start and now you've been bumped at the last second.
Kind of scary when you think about it... adoption limbo.
?
For the record, the current wait, is now between 14.2 and 14.7 months... depends where in this batch you started waiting from. For us, this continues to mean a referral somewhere between July and September of next year... but keep in mind, the CCAA is still only referring no more than 15-16 days of waiting parents for every 30 days that pass... math anyone? I think not, note the head in sand posture.Next referrals, will they be November or December? Will they skip January (Chinese New Year's)? It's not clear, with referrals not occuring in October, but pushed to the first week of November I kind of doubt we'll see another batch of November referrals, I'm guessing them moving the referral batches to the start of the month has finally come true.

Hang in there Lisa! There is a renewed hope with Jen and Lee getting little Koon's pictures. They are still deciding on a name.

I'm really hopeful for a fall referral next year. If they could only do a teensy bit more each month, we might get there. We keep saying this, but NEXT month might really tell us something (we've been saying that since June or so, haha).

I'm hoping they will refer a few more each time - and that the wait will not get to 15 months...(sometimes the head-in the-sand-posture is most optimistic). Wouldn't it be really cool if they sent another batch of referrals at the end of this month - maybe make up for some lost time?! Nice thoughts....
I'm not doing the math either on referral either. Joining the head in the sand club!
