When we were married we very carefully selected 2 readings for our ceremony. not being very religious, in the traditional sense at least, we looked for more alternative blessings, quotes, etc. One poem that I adore was a Native American one, as part of that process I came to really appreciate the works of various Native American tribes.
Recently when looking for a quote I came across this:
Treat the earth well.
It was not given to you by your parents,
it was loaned to you by your children.
We do not inherit the Earth from our Ancestors,
we borrow it from our Children.

Here's to Magpies inheritance, may we treat it well enough for her and her children to enjoy for years to come.
