Update on the Boston weekend

So while in Boston we managed to see some of the family though we didn't make it to E's Aunt and Uncle's house in NH and we are most bummed by that... verging on some major guilt over it. The drive up on Friday to E's brother and wife's house took 11 hours (normally it's 7) when we got to bed at 2AM we knew we couldn't take a 4 or more hour roundtrip on Saturday to see them. We let them know after we woke up, I still feel guilty. Sorry guys.

We did however have a cool afternoon barbecue by the pool on Sunday and caught up with everyone. E announced our moving news and everyone seemed happy about it. Check out the cool pictures of pool time I've included. The one of our niece on the right is of her and Ginger and she 'led' Ginger around by the collar! too Cute. we have another one of Ginger patiently sitting there while she held her ear and proclaimed "EAR!" and then poked her finger inside. One kid proof dog so far, one left to 'train'. The pictures of Zane at the top are of her first "swim", yes, she was 'coaxed' into the pool.

Julie, my sister-in-law, also gave us a bunch of clothes for Magpie that our neice had grown out of, Thanks so much Julie, every little bit helps. I've already gone through and organized them, helped fill the gaps in the closet from Sophia's clothes that we can't use. It made a tough chore a bit easier. We also got this too cool picture frame, it's one of those little puzzles that you slide things around in. You can load in one big picture cut into squares or several different ones. This is really cool. She also got us (ok, me!) a cool moon sun light catcher you make yourself and pop in the oven. Surely those things were on my "you knew you were a girl in the 70's if" blog. If not, they should have been. I saw it and said 'I loved these as a kid", Julie said the same thing back, too funny. we are the same age and born just days apart, how strange life is that E and his brother brought us together through marriage.

Lastly, Julie gave us 2 quilt squares, similar to another sister in law, she gave me one from their child and one from the 2 of them. I aksed for something 'Red Sox' since there really is nothing else that captures the 2 of them better than that. The Red Sox fabic is actually from one of the old onesies. That's so cool, a double meaning. In a similar fashion, the square from their daughter was also from some of her old clothing and boy, Elmo is king in their house. This was perfect. The wish couldn't have been done better for either one of the squares. On the Red Sox one, they wished that Magpie gets to see the Red Sox win the World Series... in her lifetime! LOL!!!

Thanks to all 3 of you, for a wonderful weekend and such touching gifts.

Also new on the blog today are 2 posts in the links to the left, one detailing other quilt squares we've received (100 Good Wishes Quilt Blog link) and the other showing an absolutely beautiful purchase for Magpie's room (Magpie's Nursery link). Check them out if you have a moment.

Beautiful stained glass piece for Magpie's room!

I'm glad to see that Logan isn't the only Weim that has to be coaxed into water...

What a fun weekend. I love the Elmo square. That is so much fun!!

Zane looks scared to death in the one picture. Did she feel better as the day went on?

I really like the stained glass picture in the nursery. That is wonderful.
