So who’d have thought, that the idea of Pay Per View would now extend out of our satellite dishes and cable modems into the world of adoption, but it’s true. This information will be provided (fee based) to those agencies that chose to be in the ‘know’. As seen in the box on the right, this months referrals go to 9/27/06, this means are 32 weeks of waiting parents in front of our LID. Taking a quick look at my data analysis, the recent batch doesn’t change the picture all that much. If 18 days/month are processed, we could see a referral in about 12-13 months, if 12 days/month are processed, our referral would be 18-19 months from now.
We know that when we first announced the adoption things were different, waits were shorter, so short that right now our referral would have likely been received next month. But like everything else in life, nothing is constant, things ebb and flow like the tides, pulled by a gravitational force you can’t see but can feel the impact of.
If we move our thoughts from self pity, disappointment, sadness and move on over to our glass being half full, well, we only have another year ‘or so’ wait. A year, my friends, can be a really short time. This time next year perhaps our referral will come? Or maybe as the grounds thaw, the frost line clears and buds break through the ground next spring. We can wait another year, we’ve waited over 5 already!

I hope this next year flies by!
They were probably looking at the their web site stats and looking at how many refresh clicks people were doing and thinking, "hmmmm, giving away this web page for free. these crazies will pay for each click from now on!"
and/or the traffic from parents hitting refresh may have crashed their server a couple of times.
Yep. Soon enough we'll be wishing for time to slow down...
