Retail Therapy and the CCAA update

First, the CCAA update. In a surprise move a few things happened. First, the CCAA updated the website, guess they haven't gone covert yet. Then they updated the Referral news AND the Review Room news. They completed so far reviewing Dossiers that were logged in as of March 22nd AND they sent out referrals through October 13th. So what does that mean?

Well, the CCAA has continued to refer approximately 15-18 days of waiting parents each "month" that passes. This leaves us with 207 days between October 13, 2005 and our LID of may 8 2006. So if they continued to refer 17 days per month, it would take until this time next year to get our referral... part of me thinks this is the longest it would take (famous last words eh?) and I'm hoping for an Oct/Nov referral.

With regard to the review room. For family and friends not 'in the know' on how this works. Here goes the basics. Your Dossier is put in piles along with tons of other
Dossiers, filed by date. And the Review Room reviews Dossiers in groups, by date. However, there is some overlap in the Review Room. YOu could have several months in review all at the same time. This means it is VERY likely our Dossier is in Review right now along with april and the end of March. Time will tell. The Review Room and the Matching Room do NOT operate in series, the review room could move faster than the Matching Room but this will not result in a speed up of referrals, only more paper ready (ie, cleared for international adoption) babies can speed up referrals. So even if our review is completed in the next few months, it's just a formality, we have a long way to go.

But it's nice to see the update anyway. Congrats to all the families out there gazing into their referal photos, it's got to be a surreal feeling for sure.

As for us, we did some shopping and in the end we got ourselves virtually nothing and Magpie some t-shirts and clearance stuff, we hadn't shopped for her for a while, it's been hard. So the photos are of a few of the latest finds, I mean how can you resist a nearly $10 winter sheepskin coat? from Talb0t's Kids? And the t-shirts, loved em. My fav is the one E found, the Einstein one, it shows the front with the equation and the back with the kid translation.

No, we're not planning to dress her in all black, this was just sort of a fluke. I don't think we have any other black at all.
