We went with friends to see the (now "off") Broadway show "Spam-a-lot".
There is truly no where else you would see the scenes and "references" to the following musicals, but in a show called "Spam-a-lot":
Fiddler on the RoofWest Side Story
Phantom of the Opera
Les Miserables
Company
The producers
Yentl
The Sound of Music
It also included many of the Search for the HOly Grail Favorite scenes:

Bring out your dead
Knights of the Round Table

And some new ones:

Find your (inner) Grail
Towards the end, I had to laugh at all the upsurdity in general, the spoofs on the original, the spoofs on the various Broadway shows they made fun of and then the spoof on the idea of Camelot as a whole, which turned into a sort of mini Vegas, where "what happens in Camelot stays in Camelot", complete with showgirls and neon lights! From the gay marriage, to the Vegas Camelot, to the Diva worried about being replaced by Britney, to the actual huge can of spam brought on stage, the flying stuffed (life sized) cows thrown over the castle walls, yes, it had it all, and then some.
There were some moments that I had to wonder... hmmm, is that funny or is that 'wrong', I guess we all have our limits.

We are thing of going to see this show this summer. Our son Ben (12) and his buddies love Monty Python....to the point that they crack each other up quoting the Holy grail!
Their favorite quote "Aw, tis merely a flesh wound."

Hi! We saw Spamalot recently and had a great day! The following is from the February archives on our blog ........
Always look on the bright side of life ..... ....... and so we did .... even though the occasion was another blasted birthday. It was Don's and after 24 hours of training on a new computer system for his job the past few days, he was ready for some laughs. We had tickets for Monty Python's "Spamalot" so the timing was just right. We drove across from Orlando to the Tampa Bay Arts Center for brunch at Maestro's, a restaurant adjacent to the theater. After brunch and a stroll along the Hillsborough River, we took our seats and the maddness began. The show, ripped off from the movie "Monty Python & the Holy Grail", Spamalot tells the tale of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table as they embark on their quest for the Holy Grail. Flying cows, killer bunnies, taunting Frenchmen and show-stopping musical numbers were all there in this full blown vaudeville production. Segments from the movie were verbatum and audience expressed their approval as they remembered sketches like "Bring Out Your Dead", "The Nights Who Say Nee", "Princess Lucky" & "Brave Sir Robin".
..... And as we left the theater, we were treated to a complimentary Spam on white bread sample (from the Spammobile parked out front) while a street musician played "Always Look On the Bright Side of Life" on his saxophone.
We've put the movie in our queue on Netflix and so now we continue ...... skipping merrily through the Adoption Waiting Room.
